HB Protein Smoothies Is Growing From Scottsdale and That Matters to Homebuyers

When I talk to people about moving to Scottsdale, we usually talk about the obvious things first: the neighborhoods, the homes, the restaurants, the golf, the weather and the lifestyle.

But there’s another piece I think buyers should pay attention to:

What businesses are choosing to grow here?

A recent announcement caught my attention for exactly that reason. Scottsdale-based HB Protein Smoothies has hired Tyler Doolittle as its new director of real estate and openings as the company prepares for significant franchise growth.

According to Fast Casual, HB Protein Smoothies has already signed more than 10 franchisees and has approximately 250 stores in development. Doolittle will help franchise partners with site selection, real estate strategy, approvals and openings.

To me, that's an interesting Scottsdale story, not just a smoothie story.

Quick Answer: Why Does HB Protein Smoothies' Growth Matter to Scottsdale?

HB Protein Smoothies' expansion is another example of a Scottsdale-based company building a national growth strategy from the Valley. For homebuyers, that kind of business activity adds to the larger picture of Scottsdale as a place where people want to live, work, invest and build businesses.

And I think that bigger picture matters when you're deciding where to buy a home.

A Scottsdale Company With Big Growth Plans

HB Protein Smoothies is backed by Fransmart, a franchise development company, and the company is currently positioned for substantial expansion.

The new real estate hire is particularly interesting because Doolittle's role isn't simply about finding locations. He'll be working with franchisees on site selection, approvals, lease negotiations and opening processes, all of the details that determine whether a business can successfully move from an idea to an actual location.

That tells me something important.

Real estate is at the center of the company's growth strategy.

And that's something we see over and over again in Scottsdale.

Location matters.

Visibility matters.

Traffic matters.

The surrounding community matters.

And ultimately, where businesses choose to invest tells us something about where they believe customers are going to be.

Why Business Growth Is Relevant When You're Buying a Home

If you're purchasing a home in Scottsdale, you might wonder why a new smoothie franchise should have anything to do with your decision.

Here's how I look at it.

When a community attracts growing businesses, restaurants, health and wellness concepts, professional services and other new investments, it can contribute to the overall lifestyle people are looking for.

Think about your daily routine.

Maybe you want to walk to coffee.

Maybe you want a quick smoothie after a workout.

Maybe you want restaurants and shopping close to home.

Maybe you're relocating from another state and want a neighborhood where you can easily connect with businesses, activities and other people.

Those little conveniences become part of what makes a house feel like home.

And Scottsdale has become particularly good at creating that kind of lifestyle.

Scottsdale Is More Than a Real Estate Market

This is one of the reasons I always tell buyers not to look at Scottsdale strictly through the lens of real estate.

Yes, the home matters.

But the community around the home matters just as much.

You could have a beautiful house, but if you're 30 minutes from everything you enjoy doing, you may eventually wish you'd focused more on location.

On the other hand, finding a home in an area that puts you close to the restaurants, fitness studios, shopping, entertainment, golf, parks and services you actually use can completely change your experience.

That's why local business news is worth watching.

It gives us clues about how different parts of Scottsdale are evolving.

Scottsdale Real Estate Market at a Glance

The residential market is another important piece of that bigger picture.

As of August 2026, Scottsdale's housing market is considered balanced. Current market data shows a $910,000 median sold price, 80 median days on market, a 97% list-to-sale ratio and 2,734 active listings. Homes sold for an average of about 3.28% below asking price during the month.

Current Scottsdale Market at a Glance:
  • Median Sold Price: $910,000
  • Median Days on Market: 80 days
  • List-to-Sale Ratio: 97%
  • Active Inventory: 2,734 homes
  • Market: Balanced
What This Means for Buyers

For buyers, I think this creates an interesting opportunity.

You're not necessarily dealing with the frantic pace of a market where everything sells immediately. With homes spending a median of 80 days on the market, buyers have more time to evaluate a property and make a thoughtful decision.

But I wouldn't interpret that as a reason to automatically expect a huge discount.

Scottsdale is still a premium market.

The right home at the right price can still attract attention.

That's why I always recommend looking beyond the asking price. We need to understand the property's condition, location, comparable sales and how it fits into the current market.

My Take: Watch the Businesses, Too

I like keeping an eye on local business stories because they give us another perspective on Scottsdale.

It's easy to look at a real estate listing and think about the property.

But when you step back, you start to see how the entire community is changing.

A Scottsdale-based company preparing for significant national growth.

New restaurants opening.

Health and wellness businesses expanding.

More entertainment and lifestyle options.

Continued investment in the community.

All of these things contribute to the experience of living here.

And that's what I want people to understand when they're considering a Scottsdale home.

You're not just buying a property. You're choosing a lifestyle.

If you're thinking about buying in Scottsdale, I'd love to help you figure out not only which home makes sense, but which part of Scottsdale makes sense for the way you want to live.

Featured Snippet: Why Is Scottsdale a Desirable Place to Live?

Scottsdale is desirable because it combines a strong residential market with an active lifestyle, business community, restaurants, retail, golf, recreation, healthcare and entertainment. Business expansion, such as HB Protein Smoothies' national growth plans, is one example of the investment and entrepreneurial activity connected to the Scottsdale area.

For homebuyers, looking beyond the house itself and understanding the surrounding community can help determine whether a Scottsdale property is the right long-term fit.
